'Game of Thrones' Announces Final Season Premiere Month

AceShowbiz - Winter is coming closer! "Game of Thrones" has announced on Twitter when the the eighth and final season of the mega hit series will arrive on HBO.

Consisting of six oversized episodes, the long-awaited season will premiere in April. It was announced on Tuesday, November 13 the show's official Twitter account alongside a brief video that was set to an epic orchestral score.

"Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death. All #ForTheThrone," it captioned the video.

The video, unfortunately, didn't give a glimpse of new season. However, it would help fans refresh their minds about what has happened on the series in the span of 7 seasons. It featured some of the best moments of "Game of Thrones" including The Battle of the Bastards, The Red Wedding as well as the execution of Ned Stark.

The fact that "Game of Thrones" will be returning in April received positive reaction from fans. It's because that means the show is back to its traditional release period as the majority of its past seasons also premiered in April.

While fans now know that season 8 of "Game of Thrones" will premiere April next year, the specific premiere date is currently unknown. Fans expect a new teaser trailer will be dropped in January with a full-length trailer arriving around February.

The final season will feature returning stars Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark.
