The actor playing antagonist Erik Killmonger in 'Black Panther' has also come on board as the producer for the big screen adaptation of Derek Haas' suspense book series.

AceShowbiz - Michael B. Jordan is ramping up his action hero resume by signing on to produce and star in "The Silver Bear".

The "Black Panther" actor will play assassin Columbus in the film, based on the book series by "Wanted (2008)" and "3:10 to Yuma" screenwriter Derek Haas.

Frank Baldwin's adaptation centres on an infamous hitman in the criminal underworld, according to Deadline.

The project could be the first movie in a potential franchise under Jordan's Outlier Society production company.

It is unclear when the film will go into production, but it's likely to start after Jordan portrays author Tom Clancy's literary hero John Clark in a new film franchise - he has signed on for two films, based on Clancy's books "Rainbow Six" and "Without Remorse", which will serve as the origin movie for the series.

Jordan will also produce the projects, which will centre on the ex-Navy SEAL-turned-operations officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who has appeared in 17 novels, beginning with 1988's "The Cardinal of the Kremlin".
