AceShowbiz - Jo Jung Suk and Gummy are officially married. The couple recently tied the knot in a private ceremony after five years of dating, both stars' agencies have confirmed. Keeping details of the nuptials, JS Company which represents Jo Jung Suk said in a statement released on Monday, October 8, "Jo Jung Suk and Gummy recently held a marriage ceremony with their families present, and are now lawfully wed."
Gummy's label C-JeS Entertainment added, "The two have vowed to respect and care for each other throughout their lives and to be together in joy and sorrow. We would like to thank many of you for your sincere congratulations, and they will greet fans with good productions and music in their respective places. Please give them warm encouragement and blessings on this path where the two walk together."
Sharing their happiness with the fans, the couple also debuted pictures from their pre-wedding photo shoot which took place on Jeju Island last July. The actor and the singer, both 37, looked genuinely happy as they shared laughs in the images. The "My Annoying Brother" star donned a suit and an all-black outfit, while the "You Are My Everything" hitmaker wore various white gowns.
Jo Jung Suk and Gummy began dating in 2013 after being introduced to each other through acquaintances. In June this year, they announced their plan to tie the knot in a fall wedding.
During an appearance on "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" earlier this month, Gummy recently talked about her planned wedding. Yoo Hee Yeol brought the topic as he said, "Because Gummy is someone I've been watching over for a long time, it feels a little strange to hear about her marriage. It doesn't feel real."
Gummy then responded, "It hasn't sunk in for me yet either. When I last appeared [on the show], you asked about my New Year's plans, and I answered that [I'd be taking] bridal lessons without much thought. That was used a lot as footage later."
Yoo Hee Yeol jokingly asked, "I'm curious about one thing. I'm wondering what I should do if you request me to sing at your wedding," to which Gummy replied, "How can I ask you to sing that precious nuptial song?"
