AceShowbiz - More updates about the planned "Star Wars" live-action TV adaptation hailing from Jon Favreau have emerged. Following the set photos and videos taken from its rumored filming set in South California, it has been reported that Jon has set his eyes on a "Game of Thrones" vet.

According to Making Star Wars and Discussing Film, Lucasfilm is looking at "Narcos" actor Pedro Pascal for the lead role. However, it's currently unknown what character that the Oberyn Martell of "Game of Thrones" will play.

In addition, the sites offer reports regarding the project's directors. MSW says that there will be a total of five director for the first season. Three of them will allegedly helm two episodes apiece. "Star Wars Rebels" showrunner Dave Filoni is said to be directing two episodes, making his live-action debut.

Joining him is "Thor: The Dark World" and "Game of Thrones" helmer Alan Taylor. Alan recently earned an Emmy nomination for his work on "Beyond the Wall", the sixth episode of season 7 of the HBO hit series.

As for Jon, it remains to be seen if he will serve behind the lens in addition to writing and producing the planned series.

It was rumored that the 10-episode, which is set for a $100M production budget, will be centering on the Mandalorians, a warrior-like race much mentioned in the Legends continuity. Judging from the set photos which have been circulated online, it's also assumed that the planned series will take place on the desert planet of Tatooine.

Fans of "Star Wars" franchise must be familiar with the name as it's a key part of the "Star Wars" mythology. In addition of being the home of the Skywalkers, it's known for its iconic dunes, Jawas, Tusken Raiders and Banthas play a large role in the public image of the franchise.
