The female rappers are currently embroiled in a bitter feud which spilled over into a physical altercation at Harper's Bazaar's Icons Party last month at New York Fashion Week, which Meek also attended. And according to editors at TMZ, the "I Like It" rapper has struck up a working relationship with the I'm A Boss rapper.
Cardi and Meek, who are both signed to Atlantic Records, have allegedly already worked on "hooks and verses", reported the website, which added that the collaboration happened "a few months ago."
The report didn't contain details of a release date, but Meek, who was released from prison in April after being incarcerated for five months over a probation violation, recently confirmed to the New York Post he is working on a new album.
"I'm not actually giving out a release date, it's a surprise album," the Philly rapper told the newspaper.
While Nicki and her rival's relationship remains hostile, Cardi and Meek are more than cordial - he brought the rapper out on stage with him last year, and more recently the pair hung out together at the Billboard 2018 R&B Hip-Hop Power Players event in New York last week.
Nicki and Meek split after a two-year relationship in 2017 following a series of rows, with Nicki describing the relationship as "toxic" in an interview with People magazine.
In her most recent track "Barbie Dreamz", she took a shot at her ex, rapping: "Meek still be in my DMs, I be having to duck him," but later clarified she was just joking.
Meanwhile, Cardi, who attempted to attack Nicki by throwing her designer shoe at her at the Harper's Bazaar bash, is facing some legal woes of her own.
The "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker has officially been arrested and charged after turning herself in to police over an alleged attack on two strip club bartenders. She was charged with two misdemeanours - reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, and will be arraigned on October 29.
