The upcoming movie, which is based on Agatha Christie's novel, will center on Hercule Poirot's murder investigation on a cruise ship.

AceShowbiz - "Wonder Woman" Gal Gadot has signed on to star in Kenneth Branagh's "Death on the Nile" adaptation.

The film will be director Branagh's latest Agatha Christie adaptation following last year's "Murder on the Orient Express", in which he also portrayed literary detective Hercule Poirot.

Gal will play heiress Linnet Ridgeway Doyle in the new movie.

The film, which will hit theatres in December, 2019, will center on Poirot's murder investigation on a cruise ship sailing down the Nile in Egypt.

This isn't the first adaptation of the 1937 book - in 1974, John Guillermin directed a film starring Peter Ustinov as Poirot, Bette Davis, Angela Lansbury, Maggie Smith, Mia Farrow, and David Niven.
