AceShowbiz - "So You Think You Can Dance" has crowned its winner of season 15. The season came to a close on Monday night, September 10 as the new champion was announced in the two-hour finale, which kicked off with a group routine featuring the top 10.
Following the tradition, the final four performed an encore of their favorite routines and duets chosen by the judges. Vanessa Hudgens wanted to see Jensen Arnold and Jay Jay Dixonbey's Tahitian dance again. Hannahlei Cabanilla and Cole Mills performed their steamy cha-cha as requested by Mary Murphy. Slavik Pustovoytov recreated his Luther Brown hip-hop routine which he performed with Genessy Castillo as their very first live dance together.
Judges Twitch and Nigel Lythgoe surprised everyone when they joined the top four men's encore performance of "Juice". Another encore performed that night was Jay Jay's "Runaway Baby" jazz number with Lauren Froderman.
In between the encore dances, Slavik was announced as the third runner-up. The third place went to Genessy. And the winner was eventually announced, with Hannahlei taking the most prestigious title. That meant Jensen came in second place.
Overcome with emotion, Hannahlei said through tears after winning the competition, "Just being on stage with all these amazing people. Having an impact on all these people's lives has just been amazing."
She is taking home a $250,000 grand prize and is going to embark on a tour with other top 10 contestants beginning on October 13 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Asked by ET what she would do with the prize money, the 18-year-old dancer said, "I'm going to take my parents on a trip, because they've supported me throughout this whole process and throughout my whole dance career and I just owe it to them." She's also had a few items on her shopping list, revealing "a Gucci belt" as one of them.
