In addition to starring, the 'Baywatch' beauty will serve as produce for the biopic.

AceShowbiz - Actress Priyanka Chopra is returning to her Bollywood roots to star in a biopic about a teenage motivational speaker who died at the age of 18.

The Baywatch beauty will reunite with Farhan Akhtar, her co-star in 2015's Dil Dhadakne Do, to portray the parents of Aisha Chaudhary in The Sky Is Pink.

Delhi native Chaudhary was born with an immune deficiency disorder, and later diagnosed with chronic lung disease pulmonary fibrosis, but she refused to let her health struggles get her down, and was known for her upbeat and positive approach to life, which she detailed in her book, My Little Epiphanies, released on the eve of her death in 2015.

Zaira Wasim will play Chaudhary onscreen, with Shonali Bose serving as director, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Chopra is also co-producing the film for her Purple Pebble Pictures company.

Production on the project began in Mumbai on Wednesday, August 08, with filming also set to take place in London, Delhi, and India's Andaman Islands.
