AceShowbiz - After teasing it yesterday, Zayn Malik has finally treated fans to another taste of his highly-anticipated sophomore album. The British singer unveiled a new song entitled "Sour Diesel" Wednesday, July 18. The song was first premiered on Zane Lowe of Beats 1.
Produced by Rob Cavallo and Malay, the track finds the former One Direction member showcasing his vocals over deep bass notes and light drums. "Walks in the place, hands on her waist/ Gun on her thigh, big shooter game," Zayn sings. "She did this before, murdered to gain/ Promised her ma she won't kill again."
The release of the song was accompanied by a music video, which was exclusively premiered on Apple Music. The visuals features him playing a vigilante hero who tries to steal back some sort of glowing rock. In addition to rocking his blonde hair, he covers his eyes with black face paint as well as an iron mask. There is also a scene where Zayn climbs out of a bed with several women trying to hold him back.
"Sour Diesel" is the third single off his sophomore album, following "Let Me" and "Entertainer". Details of the album itself have been kept under wraps, but the singer recently revealed that the album is already finished and titled.
"It's all very under wraps at the minute. I'm trying to keep it as mysterious as possible, but there's a plan with the roll out," Zayn said in an interview with Zane Lowe of Beats 1. "It's going to be different than anything anyone has done before. It's going to be interesting to see how the audience reacts to this kind of release. I wanted to try something different. I think it's all going to make sense in the end when the album finally drops."
The album will be a follow-up to his debut solo album "Mind of Mine". Rumor has it, the project is due out in summer 2018.
