AceShowbiz - Police in Beirut, Lebanon have arrested two Shakira fans for getting too close to the pop superstar.

The two men entered the Tannourine Cedar Reserve in an effort to approach the singer as she planted a symbolic cedar tree, according to the state-run National News Agency.

Tannourine mayor Bahaa Harb spotted the two intruders at the private event and ordered security men to detain them.

Shakira arrived at Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport on Thursday evening, July 12, ahead of a much-anticipated Friday night concert near the Forest of the Cedars of God in northern Lebanon, where her grandparents grew up.

"It's amazing to be in this magical setting, it's surreal, thank you so much for having me tonight," she said minutes into her set. "This means so much to me to be singing in the land of my grandparents. I feel so proud of these cedars, so proud of my heritage and so proud of you".

An estimated 12,000 fans turned out for the Shakira concert, which marked the start of the Cedars International Festival.
