Won Bin Slammed for Lack of Acting Gigs in 8 Years
Celebrity

The 'Autumn in My Heart' star's last acting credit is 2010's 'The Man from Nowhere' and he has since been promoting as an endorsement model.

AceShowbiz - Won Bin made a rare public appearance on Tuesday, July 3. The 40-year-old actor attended a fan sign event hosted by Korean furniture brand Cherish, for which he serves as the model. It marked his first official public appearance since welcoming his son with his wife Lee Na Young in December 2017 and since his last public appearance in October of the same year.

The private event was held in Gangnam, Seoul. He greeted 100 lucky fans and gave autographs. The event was strictly secured with guards and reporters were only able to catch a glimpse of the star as he got out of his vehicle. He looked cool in white shirt and black pants, with a wavy hairstyle.

While some of his fans were happy to finally see the actor again, some others criticize him for not starring in any movie or TV project in the last eight years. His last acting credit is 2010's "The Man from Nowhere".

An Ilgan Sports reporter said that Won Bin is unworthy of being called an actor since he's only been promoting as an endorsement model for the past eight years. Some people agreed with the reporter, with one writing, "I think his job is a model, not an actor..." Another similarly commented, "Psh, not an actor. He's a CF model."

Similar comments were also directed at his wife Lee Na Young. Some of the comments read, "He's a CF model and so is his wife Lee Na Young" and "We should stop calling Won Bin and Lee Na Young 'actors' from now on."

Another added, "I mean, he probably does not have any reasons to give up sleep and go through the all that difficulties of movie filming when he gets paid millions for CFs."

However, there are some others who defended Won Bin. "It's his life. He can do whatever he wants," one argued, while another agreed, "Who cares. Everyone has different lives." Someone else commented, "Everyone's just jealous that he can live wealthily even without working."

Won Bin first gained wide popularity in 2000 after starring on KBS's drama "Autumn in My Heart", which also launched Song Hye Kyo and Song Seung Heon to fame. He also starred on MBC's 2002 series "Friends" alongside Japanese actress Kyoko Fukada.

Being known as one of the most selective actors in the Korean entertainment industry, he has starred in only five films to date, including "Guns & Talks", "Taegukgi", "My Brother" and "Mother", besides "The Man from Nowhere". He has since appeared as an endorsement model.
