Meanwhile, new report suggests that the Duchess of Sussex may be the Queen's new favorite.

AceShowbiz - After her and Prince Harry's May 19 wedding, Meghan Markle is officially joining the royal family. That comes with a long list of restrictive etiquette rules to be followed, and it includes what a royal can and cannot eat in public. It seems like Meghan has to say goodbye to garlic.

The royal family is allegedly not allowed to eat garlic while traveling. "We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions," royal chef Darren McGrady previously shared. "The Queen would never have garlic on the menu."

Although Meghan has reportedly shown an affinity for cooking with garlic in the past, she doesn't try to break the rule since she has her own reason to avoid garlic during official visits: to avoid bad breath. However, Meghan is always allowed to eat anything she wants in private.

Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Meghan may be the Queen's new favorite. After spotted being so friendly with the new Duchess during their recent royal duty, Queen Elizabeth II personally hands over a key job to the former "Suits" actress.

Meghan and Prince Harry are set to welcome young people in the Queen’s Young Leaders program to Buckingham Palace this summer. It is the role started by the Queen and is said to be a job that has been close to her heart since it started five years ago.

Harry became the patron of the programme this year. "In my new role I will work to support the Queen, my father the Prince of Wales and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today," he said in his speech about taking on the role.

He also announced Meghan's involvement, saying, "I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in."
