AceShowbiz - 5 Seconds of Summer have beaten Beyonce and Jay-Z to the top of the U.S. albums chart.

The boy band debuts "Youngblood" at number one on the Billboard 200, shifting 142,000 equivalent sales units to edge out the hip-hop supercouple, which released surprise project "Everything Is Love as The Carters" last weekend (June 16).

The achievement makes 5 Seconds of Summer the first Australian act to top the Billboard 200 three times, following the success of their previous albums, 2015's "Sounds Good Feels Good", and their self-titled debut in 2014.

Meanwhile, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, enter the countdown at two with 123,000 equivalent units of their first full-length joint project.

Tragic rapper XXXTENTACION's previous number one, "?", bounces back up the chart from 24 to three following his fatal shooting on June 18, while Post Malone follows with "Beerbongs & Bentleys" at four, and Nas debuts "Nasir" at five.

Christina Aguilera just misses out of the top five, with "Liberation" arriving in sixth place.
