The 'Walking Dead' alum is offered the role of Ford marketing executive Lee Iacocca in the movie, which will be directed by 'Logan' filmmaker James Mangold.

AceShowbiz - Jon Bernthal is reportedly in talks to portray Ford marketing executive Lee Iacocca in the Untitled Ford vs. Ferrari Project.

Logan filmmaker James Mangold is directing the project, which is based on A.J. Baime's 2010 book Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans.

If Bernthal signs on, he will portray the executive known for leading the development of the Ford Mustang in the 1960s. He will also appear alongside Matt Damon, who will play automotive legend Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale, who will portray British driver Ken Miles. Caitriona Balfe and Noah Jupe will also star in the movie as Miles' wife and son, respectively.

The film will centre on the team of engineers and designers commissioned by Henry Ford II and led by Shelby and Miles, who were tasked with creating a car to defeat the Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans World Championship.

The movie will be based on a script written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.
