AceShowbiz - Hitmaker Dr. Luke's lawyers are challenging comments made by Kesha's attorneys about the producer's potential earnings, hoping for a jury trial.

Luke, real name Lukas Gottwald, is seeking $50 million (GBP37.7 million) in damages from the pop star, insisting his career has suffered in the wake of her abuse allegations against him.

The Timber singer has been locked in court proceedings with her former mentor since 2014, when she accused Luke of physical, sexual and emotional abuse throughout their years-long working relationship - allegations he has vehemently denied, and Dr. Luke is now claiming his livelihood has suffered immensely as a result of the ongoing legal proceedings.

According to The Blast, he believes he would have racked up millions in "producer and publishing royalties" and with projects including a trio of Katy Perry's albums over the next 10 years, if the legal wrangle wasn't hanging over him.

Kesha's lawyers have argued his figures are based on past earnings, and they insist he is no longer working with A-listers.

Dr. Luke's lawyers have now responded with a statement, which reads: "Kesha's false accusations have caused tremendous damage to Dr. Luke, his family and his businesses.

"Kesha's recent court filing misstates and misrepresents an expert accountant's calculations of certain revenue that Mr. Gottwald has lost as a result of Kesha's false accusations. The ultimate amount of Dr. Luke's damages is for a jury to decide."
