'You shouldn't have gotten down on one knee,' says Becca after Arie tells her that he misses runner-up Lauren and wants to call off their engagement.

AceShowbiz - Everyone seems to unanimously agree that season 22 has the most twisted ending. While everyone thinks that Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Becca, to whom he proposed in the Monday, March 5 finale, are happy together, viewers were treated to footage of Arie revealing to Becca that he missed runner-up Lauren and had made a mistake. The race car driver/realtor said he would call off their engagement and break up with Becca, leaving her miserably heartbroken.

"The reality of it is that being with you, although it's been everything that I wanted, I still think about her," Arie told Becca. "And I think you sense that and I think, for me, the more I hung out with you the more I felt like I was losing the possibility of reconciling things with Lauren."

"I know I made that commitment to you and this is obviously a shock for you and I know that you always said, guard your heart, figure out where your heart is, and I know the last week has been really tough for you, but I have to follow my heart," he added.

Becca was understandably pissed and told him that he shouldn't have proposed to her. "You shouldn't have gotten down on one knee. I hope you find what you want, it's clearly not me," Becca said, leaving Arie alone on the couch.

Arie followed her only to be told to go as the last thing Becca wanted at that time was having Arie by her side. "After he left, I went through all of the emotions," Becca said. "I was sad, I stayed in L.A. for a few days, and cried for probably four days straight. And grieved the loss of that relationship, and the future that I thought we were going to have. I am angry at times. I feel betrayed a lot of the time, just because I feel like I was lied to for so long."

Later, viewers were brought back to a studio in real time with Becca and host Chris Harrison. "It's brutal," she says of the breakup. "When it all happened, I kind of blacked out that I couldn't take it all in or really focus on what I wanted to say."

"After the Final Rose" airs on Tuesday, March 6 on ABC.
