The 91-year-old British royal sits in her first ever front row next to Wintour at the Richard Quinn show at London Fashion Week, but the Vogue boss does not take off her sunglasses.

AceShowbiz - Queen Elizabeth II made her first ever appearance at London Fashion Week earlier on Tuesday, February 20. The 91-year-old surprised attendees as she was seated next to Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour at the Richard Quinn show that day.
Looking very stylish as usual, the Queen wore a pale blue Angela Kelly tweed jacket and matching dress. She was seen chatting with Wintour and smiling as the models strutted their stuff on the runway during the show.
The Royal Family Twitter account shared with its followers some photos from the event and announced, "Her Majesty The Queen is visiting London Fashion Week today to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design."
According to the Royal Family, "The Award, initiated in recognition of the role the fashion industry plays in society & diplomacy, will be awarded annually to an emerging British fashion designer who shows talent and originality, whilst demonstrating value to the community and/or sustainable policies."

Designer Richard Quinn is the first recipient of the Queen's award, which he received after the Tuesday show. Queen Elizabeth also met with other designers during her London Fashion Week appearance and toured showrooms.
The Richard Quinn show reunited Queen Elizabeth with Wintour, who met with the monarch in May 2017. While the event was truly iconic with the Queen's surprise appearance, Wintour has landed in hot water for leaving her signature sunglasses on while seated next to the monarch.
"Queen Elizabeth made a surprise visit to London Fashion Week... and Anna Wintour couldn't even take off her sunglasses?" one user tweeted. "It's a shame that the queen of fashion Anna Wintour didn't remove her sunglasses when in the presence of The Queen," another similarly commented.

Along with photos of the Queen and Wintour, another wrote, "Queen Elizabeth makes first ever appearance at Fashion Week. Seated next to Anna Wintour, who for some unknown reason of course leaves her sunglasses on." Another said that "Anna Wintour's hair, face and sunglasses are beyond infuriating."

Even etiquette expert William Hanson described Wintour's action as impolite, telling Daily Mail, "The Queen of Fashion meets The Queen, but sadly has got it wrong here. Whilst Anna Wintour's fashion choices usually are faultless her etiquette today is far from on trend."
