Movie

Real basketball players Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O'Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson and Chris Webber play retired basketball players who get a chance to shine on the court again.

AceShowbiz - The first teaser trailer for "Uncle Drew" has been released for viewing pleasure. Originally a digital episodic series conceived by Pepsi, the feature film stars real professional basketball players, who are still active or retired, as old basketball legends.

Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving takes the title role who is recruited by Dax (Lil Rel Howery) to return to the court one more time to help him win a tournament. Sporting white hair and fake facial hair, Kyrie is almost unrecognizable as the titular character who shows off his best moves on the court and beats his younger opponents.

"You don't stop playing because you're old. You're old because you stop playing," Drew shares some words of wisdom to Dax.

According to the official synopsis, "after draining his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic streetball tournament in Harlem, Dax is dealt a series of unfortunate setbacks, including losing his team to his longtime rival (Nick Kroll). Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend Uncle Drew and convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew's old basketball squad and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one."

Shaquille O'Neal, Reggie Miller, Naate Robinson, Chris Webber and Lisa Leslie play members of Drew's basketball squad. Erica Ash and Tiffany Haddish also star in the film, which is expected to feature many celebrity cameos, including from pro basketball player Aaron Gordon.

The episodic digital series "Uncle Drew" was first released in May 2012 and had five installments. It has got over 95 million views since its release.

The feature film version is produced by Temple Hill in association with PepsiCo's Creators League Studios. Charles Stone serves as director with Jay Longino providing the script. It is set to be released in the U.S. on June 29.
