The matchmaker is revealed to be Violet von Westenholz, Harry's childhood friend who crossed path with the 'Suits' actress through her PR work.

AceShowbiz - During their first joint interview, Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle revealed that they first met in 2016 through a mutual friend, who set them up. The royal couple initially undisclosed who the matchmaker was, but now the identity of the cupid is revealed.
Many people assumed that she's Meghan's best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney. Jessica is known for working with clients in high places including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife Sophie, so it doesn't sound impossible for her to know Harry. Others, meanwhile, thought it was fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who used to be married to one of Harry's BFFs.
However, people guessed it wrong. The one who set Meghan up for a date with the British prince was Harry's childhood friend Violet von Westenholz. As Violet's dad is a baron who is very close to Prince Charles, it's only natural for her to be in the 33-year-old prince's inner circle.
"Harry was having a really hard time finding anyone," a source tells E! News. "It's hard enough finding someone new to date. "He can hardly go on Tinder or a dating app like normal people, but to meet someone that you actually connect with, that was proving to be almost impossible."
The source added, "It was something he had confided in his closest friends about; he was ready to meet someone but it was so hard to actually find the right person."
Violet later met Meghan through her PR work with the fashion house Ralph Lauren. According to the source, "Meghan had been a part of the London social scene for a while and had slotted into the high society set really easily. And so when Harry told Violet he was having trouble finding someone, Violet said she might just have the perfect girl for him."
During their joint interview in last November, Harry and Meghan admitted they didn't know much about each other before they met. "I'd never watched 'Suits', I'd never heard of Meghan before, and I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her [for the first time]," Harry shared. "I was like, 'Wow, OK. I'm going to have to up my game here. I'm going to sit down and make sure I got a good chat.' "
Meghan, meanwhile, revealed, "I didn't know much about him, and so the only thing that I had asked her when she said that she wanted to set us up was.. I had one question and that was, 'Was he nice?' " adding, "Cause if he wasn't kind, it just didn't seem like it would make sense. And so we went and had a drink and then I think very quickly into that we said, 'Well, what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.' "
The pair definitely met again later. The source revealed that "Harry just knew immediately, from the moment he spent time with Meghan, that he wanted to be with her. It's a simple case of meeting the right girl at the right time."
Harry and the former actress' royal wedding will be held on May 19 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
