Ha Ji Won's Brother Jeon Tae Soo Dies After Long Battle With Depression

The 'Hospital Ship' actress has canceled all activities after news broke that her actor brother Jeon Tae Soo died at age 33.

AceShowbiz - Ha Ji Won is mourning the death of her brother, actor Jeon Tae Soo. It's reported on Sunday, January 21 at the actor, best known for his role as Ha In Soo on "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", passed away after a long battle with depression. He's only 33.

His agency Haewadal Entertainment said in a statement, "Jeon Tae Soo has left this earth on January 21 at age 34 (Korean age). He had been undergoing continued treatment for his depression, and up till recently, we were in detailed discussions about him making his return to acting as his condition had improved greatly. His family and friends are in deep mourning following the sudden news."

"Jeon Tae Soo was extremely passionate about acting and was a pure artist who was talented in other fields as well, such as art," they added. "We sincerely request that people refrain from publishing speculative articles or writing malicious comments about the late actor."

The company also released information about the funeral plan, "The funeral will be held quietly with the family members and acquaintances. In order to commemorate the deceased's last road, we ask everyone to refrain from covering the funeral hall. We are full of sorrow and sorry to deliver such a sad news. Once again, we would like to express our condolences."

However, the cause of death is not revealed yet.

Following the sad news, Tae Soo's sister Ha Ji Won has canceled all of her upcoming public appearances to be with her family.

Tae Soo also starred on "The King and I", "All My Love" and "It's Okay, Daddy's Girl". After charged in 2011 for assaulting a taxi driver and two policemen under the influence of alcohol, he withdrew from the sitcom "All My Love" and went on a temporary hiatus. He last appeared on 2013's dramas "Cruel Palace - War of Flowers" and "The King's Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang".
