'Roseanne' New Promo Pokes Fun at Dan's Resurrection From Death

'You can't live in the past, Dan! When things are gone, they're gone forever!' Roseanne Barr's Roseanne told Dan, who was depicted dead in the series' finale back in 1997.

AceShowbiz - "Roseanne" has released a slew of new promos ahead of the revived show's premiere. The promos bring back the Conners to their old selves. As one of them is supposed to be dead, the reboot of the 1990s sitcom cleverly pokes fun at that matter.

Titled "Bulls", one of the promos sees Dan (John Goodman) and his daughter Becky (Alicia Goranson a.k.a. Lecy Goranson) watching a basketball game. Enter Roseanne Barr's Roseanne who asks, "How is the basketball game?" Becky replies, "It's dope."

Dan later brags about how the 1996-97 Bulls featuring retired basketball player Michael Jordan "can beat these guys any time." Bringing back the show's witty delivery, Roseanne responds, "You can't live in the past, Dan! When things are gone, they're gone forever!"

Her remarks may not only poke fun at Dan, who comes back from his death in the series' finale, but also the fact that "Roseanne" is revived after ending its original run in May 1997.

Regarding Dan's resurrection in the upcoming reboot, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said, "I don't want to talk too specifically, but I wouldn't say we'll ignore the events of the finale. Dan is definitely still alive."

Besides "Bull", "Roseanne" unearths two other promos of the highly-anticipated reboot. One promo shows the lasting effects of playing football on Dan, while the other features Sara Gilbert reprising her role as Darlene.

The revival will feature both Lecy and Sarah Chalke, making people wonder how the show will make it work. It turns out that Sarah, who took over the role of Becky Conner after Lecy went off to college, will play a middle-class married woman named Andrea who will hire Lecy's Becky as her surrogate.

"I love the part! It's such a fun part to play," Sarah previously shared. "I think it's exactly what is needed right now. Right now when the country is so divided, I really think it's a show that brings people together. The writing is so unbelievable. It's so funny."

The revival also sees the return of Michael Fishman's D.J. and Laurie Metcalf's Aunt Jackie. Additionally, the nine-episode reboot features new series regulars and notable returning guest stars. Estelle Parsons, Sandra Bernhard, Natalie West, James Pickens, Jr. and Chuck Mitchell are among them.

"Roseanne" will kick things off with a special hour-long premiere on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 8 P.M.
