Porn Star August Ames Left Suicide Note, Apologized for Killing Herself

The late porn star penned a note to her family and friends, apologizing before taking her own life in a public park, but did not address the backlash she had received from the porn community.
Porn star August Ames left a suicide note before taking her own life in a public park. The Ventura County Medical Examiner tells The Blast that the note was discovered in August's car. She allegedly apologized for killing herself, but did not mention anything about the backlash she had received after refusing to film a sex scene with a male performer who had done gay porn.

August died on December 6 after committing suicide by hanging. Her body was found at 3:45 A.M. in a public park 20 minutes from her home in Camarillo. Her cause of death has been confirmed as asphyxiation due to hanging.

A few days before her tragic death, August tweeted, "whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews , you're shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know. BS is all I can say Do agents really not care about who they're representing? #ladirect I do my homework for my body." She later received backlash from porn community and internet users who accused her of being homophobic.

Defending herself, she wrote on Monday, December 4, "I don't have anything to apologize for! Apologizing for taking extra steps to ensue that my body stays safe? F**k you guys attacking me when none of my intentions were malicious. I f**king love the gay community! What the f**k ever! I CHOOSE who I have inside my body. No hate."

August's friend and fellow adult film star Alison Tyler revealed that the late star was attacked "pretty hard" following her tweet. "A couple of people from the gay industry attacked her pretty hard, were pretty hard on her about her decision, and a few females from the straight industry were also very hard on her and were also very verbal about it and they were some big names in our industry," Alison told HollywoodLife.com. She added, "But who really knows what pushed her over the edge?"

Former porn star and August's friend Jenna Jameson blamed adults stars who were bullying August for her death. "I am so disappointed in some of the people in the adult industry," Jenna told The Blast. "I am also shocked and dismayed at a few FEMALES that attacked and helped fan the fire against my friend August." She added, "Her blood is on their hands."

Jenna specifically called out adult star Jessica Drake and Jaxton Wheeler. The latter had previously tweeted that August should kill herself by taking a "cyanide pill." Jenna continued to slam those bullies, "This should be a signal to everyone that their words are more than just words, they can take their toll."

In a statement released after August's death, Jessica explained that her comments were not meant to bully or harass anyone. She, however, admitted, "I still feel as if I failed her."
