AceShowbiz - Australian is not the only one who celebrated the country's legalization of same-sex marriage. Lorde also celebrated the legalization when she hit the stage at Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Tuesday, November 21 for her "Melodrama" world tour.
The 21-year-old songstress was about to perform her song "Liability" when she suddenly yelled, "Congrats on passing same-sex marriage, by the way!" earning a loud cheer from the audience. A concertgoer then threw a rainbow flag up on stage, and she immediately draped it over her shoulder, drawing a louder cheer.
Instead of performing "Liability" as scheduled, Lorde, clad in a pink floral gown, launched into a rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" with the opening notes of "Liability" playing in the background.
"I'm very proud of you," the songstress continued, feeling emotional as she looked at the audience. Seeing that Lorde was getting teary-eyed, a concertgoer yelled, "You look like you're gonna cry!" to which the "Royals" singer responded, "This is the crying show. I don't know if you know that."

Lorde is set to wrap up the Australasian leg of her tour on November 26 at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Following that, the New Zealand-born musician will hit the stage at the 2017 ARIA Music Awards, which will be held on November 28 at Star Event Centre in Sydney. Lorde is also nominated for Best International Artist category.
Dan Rosen, CEO of ARIA, said in a statement that he is excited to watch the songstress perform at the annual gala, calling her one of the biggest acts in the world. "Lorde is an amazingly talented artist and one of the biggest act in the world right now," he stated. "We are so excited to welcome her back to the ARIA stage in what is sure to be a magic moment from this incredible performer."
