The Billy depicter has shared his bizarre, wild audition tape which saw him ditching his top, dancing crazily while donning John Lennon-inspired glasses.

AceShowbiz - Well, to be cast on Netflix's hit sci-fi series "Stranger Things" is proven to be a hard thing to do, at least for Dacre Montgomery. The Australian actor, who plays new baddie named Billy in the second season of the cult series, has shared his bizarre, wild audition tape for the role to GQ Magazine, and you will be surprised.

Bless Montgomery's kind heart, fans of the popular series now get to see the long-rumored insane audition tape, which saw him ditching his top, dancing crazily while donning John Lennon-inspired glasses. According to show creators Duffer brothers, "it caused a bit of a stir at Netflix" when it was played at a big board meeting.

"I just kind of wanted to make a bit of a splash with the Duffers, because I assumed they would be getting so many tapes," the 22-year-old actor told the magazine. "I had the audition details for about a day, and I did the whole thing in the first day because I was so overwhelmingly excited about it."

"So I got up, kinda went crazy, shaved all my hair off around my face except for my mustache, and then rang two friends who are still studying at the acting university that I went to here in Perth," the actor explained. "I was like, 'Can you help read for me behind the camera tonight?' Then during the day I made everything else happen--the dancing and the rest, going out in the G-string and just playing around with it, and putting it together on iMovie and doing all that sort of stuff. And then my two friends came around in the evening, and they had no idea."

As for his choice to use Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf" and Dexys Midnight Runners' "Come On Eileen" in the tape, Montgomery said that he wanted to suit the series' time set which is October 1984. "It had to be before October of 1984, so I went and looked up the songs," he said.

The "Power Rangers" actor further revealed that the idea of wearing G-string for the audition was because "Billy's kind of unpredictable nature." He continued, "It's obviously not like me to get in a G-string and do that, so I was like, what wouldn't Dacre do? And when I heard the music, I was like, well, whatever. YOLO [laughs]."
