Being a mentor on "The Unit" apparently takes Taemin on an emotional rollercoaster. The SHINee member has reportedly been spotted crying during the second day of auditions for the upcoming KBS show.

According to fans who were present during the filming, the 24-year-old singer/actor got so emotional that fellow mentors Rain and HyunA had to stop, pat his back and hand him some tissues. It's unclear what caused him to cry, but there have been speculations that the "Danger" singer may have spotted someone familiar in the auditions.

It's further suggested that the trainee in question might be Hansol, who is joining the idol rebooting program. Hansol is a former trainee at SM Entertainment and was one of Taemin's backup dancers, before he left the agency.

The aim of the program is to give former idols a chance to debut in a different unit and it seems like Taemin couldn't help but feel for his former colleague when he saw Hansol on the show.

Other mentors on the show include Urban Zapaka's Jo Hyun Ah, Hwang Chi Yeul, who also rose to fame following his appearance as an unknown talented singer on Mnet's "I Can See Your Voice", and rapper San E. The show will air its first episode on October 28 on KBS.

Taemin recently said about being a mentor on the show, "Although I'm lacking, I've become a mentor. This definitely doesn't mean that I'm better [than the contestants]. Instead, I feel like I'm an acquaintance and colleague that does the same job as them."

"I sincerely spoke to them about things that I felt like I have more experience in," he humbly added. "I was actually really nervous at first, and I wondered if I'm really qualified to be judging anyone. I think that while talking about various things, I actually noticed some things that I need to correct about myself, and it's been an opportunity for me to improve."
