Meet baby Gunner Stone! Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have introduced their newborn son on the cover of the new issue of Us Weekly. The proud parents are beaming in the image as their 1-week-old son is cradled in Heidi's arm and wrapped in a baby-blue blanket.
In another photo from the inside page, the couple faces each other with their foreheads touching each other's. The baby sleeps soundly while being wrapped in a white blanket, with both Heidi and Spencer holding him.
Heidi and Spencer welcomed their first child on October 1, after nearly a decade of marriage. Speaking about the baby's sports-inspired name, Spencer tells the magazine, "He'll probably be a pitcher, so when Gunner steps to the mound, he's going to be gunning those throws down home plate. If he wants to be a skier, he's going to be gunning down those moguls. It just applies to a lot of sports."
The 34-year-old former reality star jokes about training his son to be an athlete, "You're not a good parent if you're not trying to get your son set up to potentially get a $250 million gig. If doctors were getting paid $250 million, we'd hit the books hard, but currently that's not the reality."
Still speaking about his son's future in sports, he says, "Probably baseball, a left-handed pitcher. I only want him to work a few days for $30 million or so. As cool as NFL quarterback would be, it would just be hard for me to watch people smash my son and not run onto the field and smash them."
Heidi and Spencer began dating while they were filming MTV's reality series "The Hills". They eloped in 2009 and announced that they're expecting their first child in April this year. "I have never been more excited," Heidi told Us at the time. "The reality is sinking in that we are going to have a child! I've read every pregnancy book, and now I realize I don't know anything." Spencer added, "Heidi has wanted to be a mom since the day I met her. She has planned for and thought about this."
