AceShowbiz - Following his departure from Infinite, Hoya has now found a new agency. On September 26 KST, Glorious Entertainment revealed that the "Special Girl" rapper had signed an exclusive contract with the label, which also houses massive star Ji Chang Wook.
A rep for the label recently shared that Hoya "wanted to switch back and forth between his singing and acting career, and saw eye to eye with Glorious Ent. He even visited a company dinner recently." In the meantime, the "Reply 1997" star is preparing his musical debut in "Hourglass".
Hoya departed from Infinite on August 30 after deciding not to renew his contract with Woollim Entertainment. "We would like to announce that as of June 9, 2017, Infinite's Hoya's contract with this label has come to an end," Woollim said in a statement. "We would like to apologize for delivering unfortunate news to fans, who are always cheering for us. Hoya expressed his wishes to walk a different path in order to fulfill his dreams while discussing the contract with this label, and we have chosen to respect his wishes." With the departure, Infinite continues as a six-piece group.
After the sudden announcement, Hoya took to social media to reach out to his fans with a lengthy message. "I would like to apologize for causing people to worry due to the sudden news," he wrote. "I would also like to apologize to fans who must be tired due to waiting for a long time. I ask for understanding for not being able to say anything for a long time. I wanted to let you know in person but thought that an official announcement should come first."
"I have worried a lot about what words to use to convey my feelings," he added. "First and foremost, my fellow INFINITE members, I would like to apologize and thank once again through my writing. I know very well that I was able to receive undeserved love from Inspirits despite my many shortcomings because I was with INFINITE members. I will not forget this in the future as well."
