Trevor Engelson is working on a TV comedy inspired by his failed marriage to the 'Suits' actress who is now dating Prince Harry.

AceShowbiz - British royal family might not be a happy camper about a new TV project developed by Meghan Markle's former husband. Trevor Engelson who was married to the "Suits" actress from 2011 to 2013 is working on a single-camera comedy about a woman who leaves her husband for a prince.

The project, not yet titled, has already got a pilot commitment from FOX. The premise is "divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British Royal family when your wife marries a prince, in the unforgiving spotlight of London's tabloid media, is next level."

According to Deadline, Engelson will co-produce the project, Danny Zuker ("Modern Family") is hired to write the script, and Jake Kasdan who helmed sitcom "New Girl" and movie "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" is attached to direct the pilot.

The TV show is apparently inspired by Engelson's failed marriage to Markle who is now dating Prince Harry. The former married couple has no children together, but the project came out when he and fellow producer Dan Farrah "mused about what would've been if Engelson and Markle had kids and he had to share custody with the British Royal family one day."

Meghan Markle has been dating Prince Harry for a year. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she talked about dealing with the intense public scrutiny after their romance was exposed. "It has its challenges, and it comes in waves - some days it can feel more challenging than others," she said. "And right out of the gate it was surprising the way things changed. But I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend's support."

"I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it's really simple. We're two people who are really happy and in love," she explained. "I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It's part of what makes it so special, that it's just ours. But we're happy. Personally, I love a great love story."
