Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement announcement is imminent. The British royal and his girlfriend are set to make a big step in their relationship as Kensington Palace officials are crafting an engagement announcement.
The couple is said to make their first official joint appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto on September 23, according to Daily Mail. The Invictus Games, which feature injured and disabled Servicemen, are Prince Harry's passion project. Meanwhile, Meghan has been living in Toronto where her show "Suits" is filmed.
Harry and Meghan's upcoming official joint appearance is reportedly part of what some insiders are calling "Operation Princess." It is believed that Kensington Palace has been playing a key role in reducing the actress' publicity commitment to the USA Network's drama series.
Daily Mail further reports that Harry and Meghan's engagement announcement has been stalled so that it wouldn't overshadow the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. The "Suits" star, who has spent a lot of time in London with the prince, has reportedly got Prince William and Kate Middleton's stamp of approval, and has met Harry's father Prince Charles and step mother Duchess Camilla.
Many believe that they are "as good as engaged." However, Royal protocol makes it unlikely that Meghan will meet the Queen until the official engagement announcement.
Prince Harry confirmed his relationship with Meghan in November 2016 while calling out media over their "abuse and harassment" of the "Suits" actress. Since then, they have been spotted together several times, including attending the wedding of Pippa Middleton in May.
Recently, Meghan opened up about her relationship with the gingerhead prince. "We're two people who are really happy and in love," she said in an interview with Vanity Fair. "I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It's part of what makes it so special, that it's just ours. But we're happy. Personally, I love a great love story."
