Was Jack Antonoff throwing shade at Katy Perry at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards? The Bleachers frontman looked bored and casually ate banana while the "Swish Swish" singer was hosting the Sunday, August 27 event.
The lead guitarist of Fun., who is also a frequent Taylor Swift collaborator, was caught on camera munching on the potasium-rich fruit while Katy was delivering the opening monologue. He also chowed down on a sandwich while FaceTiming his girlfriend Lena Dunham, who was not at the show.
Naturally, Twitter went into a frenzy over it. Even his girlfriend Lena tweeted, "My boyfriend just casually eating a banana at the VMAs is a good reminder of why we've been at it half a decade." She added in the comment section, "He's a true weirdo."

Lena also posted a screengrab of Jack eating a sandwich. "Boo at VMAs with a sandwich like the prince he is," she captioned it.
A Twitter user, Hunter Ingram, totally got it. "Jack Antonoff bored and eating a banana during Katy Perry's intro is all of us watching this intro," he wrote.

Coincidentally, Jack co-wrote and produced Taylor Swift's new single "Look What You Made Me Do" off her upcoming album "Reputation", which reportedly will include songs aimed at her nemeses, including Kanye West and Katy Perry.
