Irish reporter Caitriona Perry, who was singled out by President Trump during his phone call with Irish PM Leo Varadkar, describes the experience as a 'bizarre moment.'

Donald Trump can't stop being Donald Trump even when he has become President of the United States. He just gave the press another reason to mock him as he interrupted a call with new Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar to compliment a female reporter's "nice smile."
In footage that has gone viral, Trump said to Varadkar over the phone, "Well, we have a lot of your Irish press watching us," while several reporters looked on. He then pointed at a journalist, Caitriona Perry, and gestured for her to come to him.
"And where are you from?" he asked her. "Go ahead. Come here, come here. Where are you from? We have all of this beautiful Irish press." After Perry introduced herself to Trump, he said to Varadkar, "She has a nice smile on her face so I bet she treats you well."
Perry shared the video on Twitter and described the experience as a "bizarre moment" in the caption.

CNN's anchors couldn't help weighing in on Trump's controversial behavior. Symone Sanders commented, "I would describe this as how Donald Trump always acts when there are women in the room. It was condescending. It was just creepy."
The former press secretary to Bernie Sanders and a Democratic strategist added, "Why is the President of the United States picking out reporters who just happen to be aesthetically pleasing and calling them over and telling them they've got a nice smile? It's just absolutely disgusting."
Republican strategist Ana Navarro was shocked by Trump's comments to Perry. "I've got so many issues with Donald Trump, starting with his lying ways, than the fact he ogles at women. I've come to just accept it as it is what it is," she said. She added though, "This is a guy who ran beauty pageants. He likes women. This is the way he acts."
