Director Neill Blomkamp has just dropped an enigmatic teaser trailer for one of his short film projects. The short film, titled "Oats Studios Volume 1", offers a look at an intriguing dystopian world as well as aliens and war. While details about plot and cast are still kept under wraps, viewers notice two actresses in the teaser which very look like Dakota Fanning and Sigourney Weaver.
The first part of the teaser sees an overgrown Eiffel Tower, with a voiceover saying, "We were once mankind. We were humanity. They came here to exterminate us." Reptile-like aliens are later glimpsed along with some dystopian details, which include chaotic world, war and despair. "The new world altered everyone. Adapt or die, it was as simple as that," adds the voiceover.
"Oats Studios Volume 1" is among the experimental short films made by Blomkamp's Oats Studios for distribution online. The idea is to sell his short films on digital video game retailer Steam as tests for potential full feature films. Blomkamp has announced via his Twitter account that most of the short films will be available free on YouTube.

Blomkamp is no stranger to making intriguing sci-fi films. Back in 2013, he directed "Elysium" starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley. He also directed extraterrestrial movie "District 9", which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture in 2010.
