Kensington Palace posts the new photo on their Twitter account, saying that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very happy to share a photo of their daughter to celebrate her birthday.

Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a new photograph of Princess Charlotte via Kensington Palace's Twitter account on Monday, May 1, a day before her second birthday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were happy to share a new lovely photo of their daughter.
In the photo, Princess Charlotte was captured staring at the camera while giving a little smile. She was wearing a yellow cardigan with sheep motives printed on it. She was photographed by the Duchess at their home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. "The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte to mark her second birthday tomorrow," the tweet read.

The royal family also expressed their gratitude for people's birthday messages to the princess on Twitter. The Kensington Palace tweeted, "TRH would like to thank everyone for the lovely messages they have received & hope that everyone enjoys this photograph as much as they do."
People replied the tweet with sweet messages. One user said, "Thank you for sharing the photo of Princess Charlotte. She's a face of light that many need to see when life seems discouraging." Another added, "Really is a lovely photo - she looks so grown up too. Happy 2nd Birthday."
Princess Charlotte had appeared in several public events with her parents, but William and Kate try to protect her from the public eye as much as possible so she can lead a normal life. She was last seen in public as she attended a Christmas Day church service with her family last December.
William and Kate celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 29. Kensington Place posted photos of them together with their two children on Twitter. The caption read, "Thank you for all the lovely messages wishing The Duke and Duchess a happy wedding anniversary - it's been an amazing six years!"
