Social media users blasted the mother-of-three for making light of mental illness after she posted on Instagram a photo of herself with text, 'me after a mental breakdown,' being written across it.

AceShowbiz - Hours after Kim Kardashian was slammed for transforming into Virgin Mary for her new set of Kimojis, her elder sister, Kourtney Kardashian, landed in hot water for insensitive "mental breakdown" meme. The 38-year-old poked fun at herself by posting on Instagram a picture of herself with text, "me after a mental breakdown," being written across the snap.
In the photo she shared on Friday, April 21, Kourtney could be seen sporting an oversized white tee, black sweatpants and Vans sneakers. She completed her look with a fur coat, shades and Hermes Birkin bag. The photo appeared to be taken inside an elevator, where she held a glass of champagne.
Social media users immediately slammed Kourtney for making light of mental illness. A Twitter user wrote, "Sorry but that doesn't look like a mental breakdown. Looks like white privilage getting ready to go clubbing. Little respect please." Meanwhile, another commented, "Don't joke about that, you would dread going thru a real one."
Most of the jabs, however, were about the fact that she's possibly wearing real fur in the photo. "Really using fur??? Your family doesn't care the torture animals go through. You suck !!!" read one comment. "Disgusting photo @kourtneykardash," another commenter wrote, while an Instagram user added, "Those animals the died (sic) for that jacket & you wanna wear them WTF."
Kourtney once said she was "literally on the verge of a nervous breakdown" following her breakup from Scott Disick. "I can't believe that this is where my life is at right now," the mother-of-three said in an episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians". "I've worked so hard to keep this family together, it just makes me sad for the kids."
