Prince Harry reportedly has popped the question to his girlfriend Meghan Markle after eight months of dating. Getting married means Meghan would become the first American princess England has ever had.
According to OK!, the palace confirms Harry and Meghan's engagement. The site offers details about his "romantic proposal" and how the "Queen picked the antique family ring." The pair "have been secretly engaged for weeks."
"The prince asked Meghan to marry him over a glass of champagne. He was worried she would think he was being rash, but she said yes right away," a source tells the mag. "[The Queen] offered up her approval by choosing an engagement ring for the royal-to-be from among her treasure trove of family heirlooms."
The source adds, "[Meghan and Harry] are getting ready to make a formal announcement soon. They've been holding in the news like a couple of giddy school kids; they're dying to finally be able to share it with the rest of the world."
While a palace representative hasn't responded to a request for comment, another royal insider tells Gossip Cop that the palace didn't confirm the engagement between Harry and Meghan. A source close to the "Suits" actress also claims that there is "no truth" to the tabloid's engagement report.
