"Ghost in the Shell" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.

Scarlett Johansson takes the role of the Major in the upcoming movie, which is directed by Rupert Sanders. She will sport the iconic, nude thermoptic suit that makes her invisible. The movie is also confirmed to recreate some of the famous scenes from the original 1995 animated movie, which was based on the same source material.

Also starring Takeshi Kitano, Sam Riley, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Rila Fukushima and Michael Wincott, the sci-fi thriller is coming to U.S. theaters on March 31, 2017.
