Michael Bay hoped an R-rated "Bumblebee" spin-off would happen. The longtime helmer of the "Transformers" film series revealed that there was an initial idea for NSFW storylines for "Transformers 6", which will focus on a solo adventure of the beloved yellow Autobot.

"There's actually one idea that would be really fun R rated, with Bumblebee," Bay said during an interview with Collider. "I don't wanna say, but it would be really fun. Very [Quentin Tarantino], you know," the 51-year-old helmer added.

Details about the upcoming "Bumblebee" spin-off are still scarce, but producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura shed some light on what to expect from it. "It's bumblebee's story. I don't think you'll see a lot more in it," he said. "We'll see as it evolves. In the treatment form? No."

"Some of the things will have a very direct relationship," he teased, before adding, "You'll see some things in here that are laying a pipe. You won't necessarily know that it's laying a pipe for another movie, but it's there."

"Bumblebee" solo movie won't arrive until June 8, 2018, but fans can soon watch the fifth film, "Transformers: The Last Knight", which is set for a June 23, 2017 U.S. release. Aside from Bumblebee, the returning robots include Optimus Prime and Megatron, while Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yaeger is among the returning human characters.
