TV

The first two episodes of the new Marvel series will debut on IMAX theaters on Labor Day 2017.

Marvel and ABC are moving forward with its upcoming joint project "Marvel's Inhumans" by setting a premiere date for the new series. The first two episodes of the drama will run in IMAX theaters worldwide for two weeks starting Labor Day 2017, which falls on Monday, September 4.

The first two episodes will be shot entirely with Imax cameras. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Imax is paying for the first two episodes. The two episodes, edited to include additional scenes, will later air on ABC with the following episodes airing in a weekly format.

Disney-ABC Television Group president Ben Sherwood says of the project, "We think this is a quadruple win - a win for Imax, a win for Marvel, a win for ABC Studios and a win for ABC to launch a show in an innovative way and get attention."

It's also noted that "Inhumans" series, which is not a spin-off to "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." though it has featured some "Inhumans" characters, does not replace the planned feature film.
