The CW has released a new promo for "Supergirl" season 2, featuring first footage of Tyler Hoechlin's Superman in action. The two team up to face the same crisis. As seen in the sneak-peek video, a space shuttle is in distress and appears to be falling to earth.

Superman will make his debut in the first two episodes of "Supergirl" season 2, which will kick off Monday, October 10 at 8 P.M. on The CW. There will be more than a falling space shuttle that he and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) have to deal with on the show.

The Man of Steel and his cousin will also join forces to fight against Mon-El (Chris Wood), who arrived in a Kryptonian rocket at the end of season one, and villain Metallo (Frederick Schmidt).

According to executive producer Sarah Schechter, there will be tension when the two meet. "Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have super powers on earth. There's some head-butting and philosophical approaches that are different. Well get into that," she teased.

Other guest stars tapped for the second season include Lynda Carter as President of the United States, Sharon Leal as Miss Martian, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, and Dichen Lachman as DC villain Roulette.
