"America's Got Talent" has unveiled half of the finalists of its season 21. Following the Tuesday, August 30 live broadcast, five of the eleven semifinalists who performed last night were picked to be in the Top 10, while the rest were eliminated on Wednesday night.

Before the results were announced, we got to see performance from "The Illusionists" - Live from Broadway cast, with Darcy Oake kicking off the show with pigeon magic. Later on the live results show, "The Daredevil" Jonathan Goodwin of "The Illusionists" showed a stunt in which he was suspended by his jaw from a flaming rope over a bed of spikes. He had to free himself from handcuffs and grab another rope before he fell onto the spikes. Fortunately, he made it with just moments to spare. Meanwhile, "The Futurist" Adam Trent broke a light bulb in a plastic bag just by pinching the corner.

The first act to be announced safe was Grace VanderWaal, followed by Sal Valentinetti and Jon Dorenbos. The three of them automatically advanced based on viewers' votes. Next, Tape Face was also sent to the finals after winning the instant Dunkin Save through online voting during the live results show.

It was up to judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Melanie Brown to choose between Laura Bretan and Edgar. Heidi and Mel voted for Laura, while Howie picked Edgar. Simon admitted, "This is what I was dreading," as the fate of the two acts was left in his hands, before he eventually chose Laura.

The remaining semifinalists will perform next week with five additional finalists to be announced on Wednesday, September 7. The finale will take place on September 13 and 14.
