Patrick Stewart Hints at Leaving 'X-Men' Franchise After 'Wolverine 3'
Movie

The actor who plays Professor Charles Xavier may not return to the superhero franchise after starring in the third Wolverine solo movie.

AceShowbiz - Is Patrick Stewart leaving "X-Men"? The 76-year-old actor who has been playing the older version of Charles Xavier in the superhero movie series since 2000 says he may make his final appearance as Professor X in "The Wolverine 3".

"I can't say because I don't know, but I would imagine this is probably the end of this franchise for me," the star tells ITV, before quickly adding, "But the thing about science fiction and fantasy is that you can never, ever say it's the end, it's over."

"But watch out! In March, I'm going to be back on the screen again. A very different Charles Xavier, that's all I'm allowed to say. Nothing like the Charles Xavier you've seen in the past," he teases what to expect from his character in the next Wolverine movie that is expected to become Hugh Jackman's last appearance as the clawed mutant.
