AceShowbiz - FOX offered more than a glimpse of its "The Rocky Horror Picture Show Event" at the TV movie's panel at San Diego Comic-Con International on Thursday, July 21. The first 25 minutes of the new take on the 1975 musical film was screened for audience which packed Room 6DE.

It opens at a movie theater playing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and the opening number "Science" is performed by the theater's female usher. The first 25 minutes also includes musical numbers "Time Warp" and "Sweet Transvestite".

Executive producer Lou Adler said after the screening, "Our biggest fear went away." He said of the remake, "The idea that we did go in [with] was to never lose the fact that the fans have carried this film for 40 years and to pay tribute to them in every way that we could."

The panelists praised Laverne Cox's performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. "We didn't have a B plan," said director Kenny Ortega of casting the "Orange Is the New Black" actress in the role, adding that she had "wanted to do this project ever since she was a young person."

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" follows sweethearts Janet and Brad, played by Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan, who stumble upon the creepy mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad-scientist. Frank is holding an annual Transylvanian science convention to introduce Rocky Horror, an attractive man created solely to fulfill Frank's desires.

Staz Nair stars as Frank's creation Rocky, Christina Milian plays Magenta, Reeve Carney is Riff Raff, Annaleigh Ashford portrays Columbia, and Ben Vereen plays Dr. Scott. Also joining the cast are Adam Lambert as Eddie and Tim Curry, the original Frank-N-Furter, who returns to play the TV movie's Criminologist Narrator.

For those who were not able to attend the panel at SDCC, FOX also released a new trailer to keep the anticipation high for the show's October 20 premiere.
