Kanye West is reportedly in "secret feud" with Beyonce Knowles. According to Radar Online, the rapper feels like he's been in competition with the singer lately for some reasons, and he recently tried to show her who's the greatest between them by announcing the surprise New York show that ended up being a huge disaster.
The site pointed out that Kanye planned to do the show at Webster Hall around the same time Bey's sold-out gig in Philadelphia took place on Sunday night, June 5 at Lincoln Financial Field. A so-called source told them that the "Famous" hitmaker announced his secret concert in attempt to "steal attention away from Beyonce's victory march through the northeast."
Thousands of Kanye fans showed up at Webster Hall and packed the streets around the venue on early Monday morning, causing chaos as they sat atop cars and climbed up buildings to get a better view. Kanye was already in the area when the venue decided to cancel his performance. The situation, however, was apparently something the Chicago rhymer had predicted and he actually wanted to happen.
"Kanye plans everything down to the minute," the source told Radar Online, adding that "he wanted to get as much attention for himself as he could. The 'secret show' was another opportunity to try and get everyone focused on him and not on Beyonce."
"Kanye just likes to create what he calls buzz or attention," the source added. "He was competing with Beyonce to try and outshine her."
It's still unclear whether or not the story is true, but it's worth noting that Kanye announced the pop-up show right after lots of fans expressed their frustration over his canceled headlining set at Sunday's Governors Ball. Shortly after his planned performance at Webster Hall got scrapped too, he tried to contact NY Mayor Bill de Blasio and ask him if he could move the show to another location "so [his fans] could have a party outside."
