AceShowbiz - The second-most-popular iOS game of all time is making it to the big screen. Halfbrick's "Fruit Ninja" is being developed as a movie under Tripp Vinson's production banner Vinson Film.

The project will be shaped as a live-action family comedy based on the popular app about a ninja with a grudge against the fruits. According to THR, "How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack" scribes J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani are in charge of the "Fruit Ninja" script.

Sam White and Tara Farney are serving as executive producers. No director is appointed yet.

The goal of "Fruit Ninja" is to slice up as many fruits as possible. It has been downloaded for more than 1 billion times and is the second highest-selling game after "Angry Birds" on iOS. "Angry Birds" the movie opens in theaters this week to give gamers a chance to find out why the birds are so angry. Another out-there concept is applied to classic video game "Tetris", which is developed as a sci-fi trilogy.
