Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon to Be Feuding on Ryan Murphy's New Anthology Series

Both Academy Award-winning actresses will star in the first installment of FX's 'Feud' that depicts Bette Davis and Joan Crawford's infamous feud that went down in 1962.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Lange is returning to TV and is teaming up with Ryan Murphy again, but not on "American Horror Story". The two-time Oscar-winning and three-time Emmy-winning actress is going to star alongside another veteran actress, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, on FX's new anthology series "Feud.

To be produced by Murphy, Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner, "Feud" will chronicle "bouts and blows of epic conflicts" in each season. The first installment will depict the infamous rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, played by Lange and Sarandon respectively, and how they worked together in 1962 for film "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" that ultimately became a box office smash and a critically acclaimed movie.

The stellar cast also includes Alfred Molina as director Robert Aldrich, Judy Davis as famed gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, Stanley Tucci as studio head Jack Warner, and Dominic Burgess as Crawford and Davis' co-star Victor Buono. The pilot will be based in part on Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam's script "Best Actress".

Murphy is also set to direct several episodes of the 8-part first season.
