A Scene From 'Walking Dead' Penultimate Episode May Give Hint at New Community

In the latest episode of the AMC series, Rick and Morgan encountered a man wearing a protective armor who could be part of The Kingdom.

While we're waiting to see Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for the first time in "The Walking Dead" season finale, the show may have given a hint at new characters that will be featured in upcoming season 7. The clue was included in the penultimate episode that aired last Sunday, March 27.

In case you missed it, the scene possibly introducing the new characters saw Rick and Morgan crossing paths with a man searching for his horse at a farm. Rick was about to shoot the mystery man who donned a protective armor, believing that he could be a member of the Saviors, but Morgan stopped him. "Maybe he's from the Hilltop, maybe he's from somewhere else," Morgan reasoned.

Fans of the comic books may notice that the man's protective armor could suggest that he's from the Kingdom, another community led by a former zookeeper named Ezekiel who oversees the community with his pet tiger Shiva. The residents of the Kingdom dress in protective armor and occupy a school building.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple was coy when asked about the possibility of Ezekiel and Shiva being introduced this season. "There's not a great chance but if it were happening, I wouldn't tell you either," he told THR before the midseason premiere. He added though, "The world is going to be expanding in a lot of different directions."

"The Walking Dead" season 6 finale airs Sunday, April 3 at 9 P.M. ET on AMC.
