'I will be in the next 'Star Wars' movie. I think that's an exclusive, actually,' the actress herself revealed in an interview during the SAG Awards over the weekend.

AceShowbiz - You haven't seen the last of Captain Phasma. It's been confirmed that the character, who was captured by Finn and seemed to be destined for death in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", will definitely be back for the next film, "Star Wars Episode VIII".

Gwendoline Christie revealed herself that she's set to reprise her role as the stormtrooper captain. "I will be in the next 'Star Wars' movie. I think that's an exclusive, actually," she told PEOPLE at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, January 30.

The 37-year-old actress added that she was "very overexcited" about her role in "The Force Awakens". "I made no secret of the fact that I really campaigned for the part for a long time," she shared. "And then I was delighted when J.J. Abrams wanted to have me in the film and then wanted to cast me in this role that had originally been designed for a man."

"I thought the costume was incredibly striking," she added. "I felt it encouraged diversity and it was doing something new and it was an interesting bit of casting for women, and I hope that in something that was such a mainstream success it would breed more of those kind of opportunities for other women."

"Episode VIII" is directed by Rian Johnson and will also feature Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac reprising their respective roles. It's scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017.
