Trent Harmon who's suffering from mononucleosis, La'Porsha Renae and Emily Brooke are among those who survive the brutal cuts.

AceShowbiz - Hundreds were sent to Hollywood during "American Idol" season 15 auditions, but who will make it through and go to the live shows? In the Wednesday, January 27 episode, the judges made drastic cuts as contestants were singing in lines of 10.

In the first group, there were Jordan Sasser who originally auditioned with his wife but she didn't advance, and Dalton Rapattoni and Jaci Butler who have been rivals in a battle of the bands. The three of them made it through.

Jenn Blosil, Olivia Rox and Thomas Stringfellow were those who advanced from the next line. In group three, Jessica Cabral nailed "Photograph", Melanie Tierce had some shaky moments when singing "Invincible", and Sonika Vaid slayed "Almost Is Never Enough". Unfortunately for Tierce, she was eliminated while the other two made it through.

La'Porsha Renae who brought her daughter to audition was up next in group four. She tackled Katy Perry's "Roar" and advanced to the group round. In the next line, cancer survivor Melany Huber was the only singer cut by the judges, while the rest, including Lee Jean and Shelbie Z, moved forward.

Jeneve Rose Mitchell kicked off Day 2 in Hollywood with a cover of Little Big Town's "Boondocks". She was the only member of her line to advance. Gianna Isabella and Tristan McIntosh from the next line also made it through.

Michelle Marie and Kyrsti Jewel are both 16 years old and fans of "Idol", but their fate is not the same. Marie advanced, but Jewel did not. It was followed by montage of some singers, including Kerry Courtney, Brooke Sample, Usen Isong, Reanna Molinaro, Ethan Kuntz and Jake Dillon, who did make it through.

Trent Harmon, meanwhile, found out just 20 minutes before he had to sing that he's suffering from full-blown mononucleosis. Ignoring doctor's orders, he sang Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" and despite not at his best condition he advanced to the group round. Miranda "Poh" Scott and Emily Brooke also made it through.
