'Hey guys. My dad isn't doing too well. Please say a prayer for him! It would mean a lot to me,' the 'High School Musical' alum writes on Twitter.

AceShowbiz - Vanessa Hudgens revealed last year that her dad Greg Hudgens was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. As the disease recently took a toll on his health, the Disney alum took to Twitter on Sunday, January 24 to ask her fans to pray for her dad.

"Hey guys. My dad isn't doing too well. Please say a prayer for him! It would mean a lot to me," Vanessa wrote on the social media. The tweet has been retweeted 2,140 times and favorited by 9,339 users. The tweet came as a surprise for her fans as she previously shared on the social media some fashion stuff instead of her dad's condition.

The 27-year-old actress opened up about her dad's condition when she accepted an award for Breakthrough Performer at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards. "Last year, my boyfriend, Austin [Butler], lost his mom, Lori, to cancer, and my dad has just been recently diagnosed with stage four cancer," Vanessa said during her acceptance speech. "Let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being."

"This award, it means a lot to me but I dedicate it to my boyfriend's mom, Lori, my dad, and to all the families out there who are struggling with this, because it really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this," she continued.
