Is "The Good Wife" coming to an end after the seventh season? The future of the show has been in limbo as contracts of most of the original cast members are expiring at the end of the season and Julianna Margulies has just added fuel to the speculation as she hinted at her departure.
At the Casting Society of America's third annual Artios Awards on Thursday, January 21, she shocked the audience as she said (as quoted by Vulture) during her speech honoring "The Good Wife" creators Robert and Michelle King, "[The Kings] think I'm here for them, but I'm unemployed come April, and I think you [casting directors] haven't seen me in a while, at least not in person, so I thought I should show up."
Executive producers/showrunners Robert and Michelle King themselves have announced that they're stepping down from their posts on the Emmy-winning series after the currently airing seventh season. They are gearing up to launch their new series, "BrainDead", on CBS this coming summer.
CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller, however, was confident that the show "can certainly continue" beyond the seventh season. Executive producer Craig Turk has been tapped to replace the Kings as showrunner, but the network has not officially granted an eighth season for the legal drama.
